Support to the healthcare system of the region is one of the focal points of INK’s charitable activities. The company provides ample assistance to healthcare institutions and acts to bring child healthcare to the highest international standards. JSC INK-Capital General Director Marina Sedykh talked on this at the meeting called “Business and Science” held in the Irkutsk office of Sber.

One considerable contribution to the healthcare capacity of the region over the recent years was opening of a high-tech digitalized surgery unit in the Irkutsk State Regional Children’s Hospital – the most technologically advanced facility in the Siberian and Far East Federal Districts. The surgery unit was sponsored by Nikolay Buynov, the founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Irkutsk Oil Company.

The company procured the state-of-the-art surgery complex for the traumatology department of the Ivano-Matryoninskaya Children’s Hospital. The equipment makes it possible to administer surgeries to children with injuries of knee and other smaller joints. The Fund of Marina Sedykh and INK organized a charity gala as part of the exhibition “The Present Future” that raised 8 mln roubles for the cause. Graphic art pieces themed around the company’s investment projects were purchased by employees and partners. Ms. Sedykh herself made a significant contribution as well as Alexandr Abramkin representing the Baikalsky Bank of JSC Sberbank.

During the pandemics, INK built a new 60-bed hospital unit in Ust-Kut to treat coronavirus. The 3 thous. m² facility boasts modern equipment, including an in-house oxygen station, and 3 resuscitation wards – a total of 6 beds for patients in need of intensive care. After the epidemiological situation stabilized, the unit was repurposed for treatment of other infectious diseases.

Targeting the north of the region for 10 years, the charity fund also contributes significantly to the development of healthcare. Over these years, 200 mln roubles was allocated to charity, providing support to more than 8 thous. people.

Since 2020, free health checks are provided to residents of the localities where INK operates, with the participation of the Ivano-Matryoninskaya and Regional Children’s Hospitals.

“It is a two-way road: we help healthcare, and hospitals allocate teams of specialists to visit Ust-Kut and Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky. Doctors work several days on end “until the last patient”. Last year, they examined 800 children. We also assist in bringing the examined children over to Irkutsk, Novosibirsk and Moscow to receive prescribed treatment,” said Ms. Sedykh.

In addition, a salt chamber was opened in the Ust-Kut Children’s District Hospital. The project was implemented by the Fund of Marina Sedykh and INK. Under the assistance program, furniture was procured for the hospital’s emergency department and financing was allocated to replace window frames.
