The health checks are part of the “Children’s Health” program implemented by the Charity Fund of Marina Sedykh and Ivano-Matryoninskaya hospital since 2020 in the areas where Irkutsk Oil Company operates.

During two days, an otorhinolarygologist, ophthalmologist, surgeon, trauma surgeon as well as pediatric specialists – pediatrician, neurologist and gastroenterologist – examined young patients in the local hospitals.

According to Tatyana Belkova, deputy chief medical officer of Ivano-Matryoninskaya hospital, alongside regular health check-ups, the doctors address the main task of early detection of chronic health issues that need prompt special treatment.
“The Charity Fund of Marina Sedykh provides ample support to the territories where INK operates, with targeted support to children remaining a priority over the years. This time we also organized a visit of Ivano-Matryoninskaya hospital doctors to the remote village of Verkhnemarkovo, where children need examination by highly qualified specialists and maybe a treatment course in the region capital. The Fund of Marina Sedykh will traditionally help with that. This healthcare support program will remain available in the future, too,” said Larisa Bogdalova, director of the Fund.

The examination showed that 36 children needed hospital admission and treatment in Irkutsk. As part of the “Children’s Health” program, the Charity Fund of Marina Sedykh covers the expenses of travel to the place where medical treatment will be administered and back home for minor patients and accompanying adults (for low-income, multiple-children families, families with children with special needs, one-parent families).

Irkutsk Oil Company has also supported routine health check-ups for adult residents of the areas where it operates since 2020. In March 2023, specialists of Irkutsk Regional Children’s Hospital conducted health checks for 500 young and 100 adult patients with INK’s support in 6 localities of the Katangsky district.

Residents of villages Podvoloshino, Bur, Nepa, Preobrazhenka, Yeryoma and Yerbogachyon could obtain medical advice free of charge. The doctors’ travel and accommodation costs were financed by Irkutsk Oil Company.
